New Zealand Visas and Permits
The main types of Visas/Permits are for the purposes of:
- Working in New Zealand
- Visiting New Zealand
- Studying in New Zealand
- Undertaking business in New Zealand
- Residence in New Zealand
Visiting and Working in New Zealand
You do not need a visa to visit New Zealand
for a short period if you come from one of the countries with which New Zealand has a visa waiver agreement.
You do not need a visa or permit to visit or work in New Zealand if
you are a New Zealand Resident or Citizen or an Australian Resident or
Citizen.
To obtain a New Zealand work permit or visa
- You must hold an offer of employment
for which you are qualified
- Must be no suitable New Zealanders
available, or you meet the family or other policy
- In some cases a work visa permit can lead
to a Residence Visa permit.
Business
If you would like to operate your business in New Zealand or set up a
new business in New Zealand then you may apply for a Long-term Business
Visa/Permit or residence under an entrepreneur category.
